The sun sets tonight at 7:04pm. This will be the first weekend in a long time that we have the advantage of enjoying more time to our day, more light in the sky, and the promise of spring. My meditation call for today is to bring awareness to 7:04pm, and any thoughts, feelings, or reactions that coexist with this extended daylight awareness. Breath, enjoy, relax!
The Ripple Effect
There are certain moments in our lives when we realize that small changes can have very big impacts. The therapeutic process has a direct impact on our personal growth, and that is evident by the changes we make in our decision making process, stress management, emotional control, and many more aspects of life. But at what point do these processes stop? When does it go from being personal growth, to growth in each person or system that the changed person connects with.
For example, along with stress management comes a more effective way of communicating with colleagues. These colleagues appreciate the improved communication and are therefore empowered to interact more to improve the efficacy of a certain project. The boss is happy with outcomes and improved time management and project completion.
The parent who is able to control emotions in a more balanced way will see improvement with his or her ability to reserve patience for difficult moments, and energy during those fun moments. This will effect each child in the household as they will have a more predictable process.
When one person experiences substantial growth and change, there is an infinite amount of people who will benefit from this change. The ripple effect is a powerful force within a family, team, community and beyond.
